Lots of new and interesting stories out the last few days. Have your say.
The Americans have finally admitted to using Thailand (along with many other countries) to base a torture / interrogation camp where “water boarding” was used as a technique to gather information. Should this have been allowed by the Thai authorities?
On the basis that the Americans have been shown to take innocent people off the streets and spend months trying to extract information should countries actually stand up to the American Government and ask for solid evidence of guilt before such extreme measures are allowed to take place or should they just be ended full stop?
The standard US War on Terror justification that the end result suits the means – should this be allowed to be used Carte Blanche without any control?
The US is the first to preach about how countries should be allowed freedom and democracy. Are torture and imprisonment without trial part of these democratic freedoms?
