Accommodation
Thailand is a major tourist destination and caters for all budgets from the ultra rich that can afford exclusive five star hotels or private retreats right through to the backpackers that can only afford a few baht for a room. Local tourist agencies can also arrange either hotel or private accommodation. Accommodation is usually more expensive in the high season, December until May. At other times prices are reduced by up to 50%.
As a general guide a room at a beach resort in three star accommodation during low season with aircon would work out at 700-1500 baht per night. In the high season this would jump to between 1000 and 2000 baht per night.
